Electronic centrifugal switch (ECS for short) is a new solid switch designed using semiconductor technology. The figure below shows the appearance and internal circuit board of a product model RNS. As can be seen from the figure, it has no connection with the word "centrifugal", the reason why it is called "centrifugal switch" is just to facilitate the user to quickly "associate" to its role. And its other name "single-phase motor electronic starter" is more in line with its structure and working principle.
This electronic switch determines the motor's starting speed by sampling the motor's current, voltage, phase and other parameters. If the motor's speed reaches 72%-83% of the rated speed, the starting capacitor is disconnected to achieve the purpose of starting the motor. The diagram below is a schematic diagram of the circuit.
Compared with the mechanical centrifugal switch, this switch has many advantages and characteristics, such as: as long as the current specifications match, an electronic switch can be used in all different pole numbers, different power frequency single-phase motors; No contact, no spark, no noise, explosion-proof, waterproof, anti-oil, strong adaptability to the environment; Without occupying the axial position of the motor (generally placed in the junction box), the axial length of the motor can be shortened, thereby reducing the length of the rotating shaft (all motors) and the housing (for the motor that the mechanical centrifugal switch is installed inside the housing), so that the material used in the motor is reduced, the quality is reduced, and the cost is reduced (including transportation costs); Easy to install (in principle, it can be installed in any position, but it is generally placed in the junction box), without mechanical debugging, and do not need to worry about affecting the use of performance due to inappropriate adjustment; Low energy consumption, saving power capacity, improve the efficiency of the whole machine. In recent years, the electronic centrifugal switch has gradually replaced the traditional mechanical centrifugal switch because of its many advantages.
